Our Story
We met working in a pub together and quickly fell in love (with beer) but also making great memories with each other.
What we had most in common was our passion for beer and travel. After long hours each day in hospitality we would come together after shift to have a beer and discuss our next adventure, so we always had something to look forward to.
This brought us all over the world, from Belgium to Australia or South Africa, nowhere was out of bounds. While working and travelling abroad we also found we loved to get as much knowledge as possible about the beer, wine or spirits we were tasting in each new place. Brewery tours and wine tastings became our activity of choice while also soaking up the culture and scenery of each location.
After getting immersed in the craft beer culture of Australia we were wowed by the independent bars and breweries and the enthusiasm of the people behind them. We were hooked.
After leaving Oz , we stopped in Bali and after some beach beers and a marriage proposal we started talking about what we wanted to do in the future. BeerBelly was born.
8 years of dreaming later (and a house, our dog Frida and beautiful baby girl Eden) we finally have got there. Now we can create memories in BeerBelly as a family and surround ourselves with just great products and of course bloody great beer.
We read somewhere in a bathroom in Switzerland; "Adventures are Dangerous, Routine is Lethal" and we feel the same way about beer as we do travel. Why drink the same thing all the time...?
